The Country Cabin in the Woods is located 9km southwest of Caroline, Alberta. We are approximately 1 1/2 hours from Calgary and 2 1/4 hours from Edmonton. We are 1/2 hour north of Sundre and 1/2 hour south of Rocky Mountain House. Red Deer is 1 hour to the east.
Can I check-in early or check-out late?
We take care and pride to ensure the Cabin is ready on-time for each guest, therefore we need the scheduled time to prepare. Therefore we are unable to accommodate early check-in or late check-out.
How do I book?
We offer a number of ways to book the Country Cabin. Firstly, check the AVAILABILITY to see if the dates you are interested in are available. Is there cable tv?
There is no cable TV at the Cabin. The Cabin is equipped with a Samsung Smart TV with a DVD BluRay player as well as a Roku Streaming Box. Netflix and other streaming channels are available, as well as you can log into some of your personal accounts on the Roku (remember to logout after use).
Is the Country Cabin off-grid?
Although the Cabin is surrounded by 160 acres of woodlands, pastures and wetlands, it has amenities such as electricity, hot water and septic. The main source of heat is electric baseboard although the heat of the wood stove is very comforting.
Is there a firepit and wood?
There is a firepit at the Cabin. We supply dry, split firewood for your use during your stay. We ask that you follow provincial fire rules and check with www.albertafirebans.ca - Clearwater County, to ensure it is safe to have a fire.
Do I need a 4x4 to get to the Cabin?
The Country Cabin is accessible with a "normal" vehicle including small cars. The road to the Cabin is a gravel road, with the main road being maintained by Clearwater County and the roads within the gates maintained by the Country Cabin. It can get icy in the winter and it can get muddy during Spring thaw and heavy rains.

Septic Tank: Please flush toilet paper ONLY
Please do not put food or chemicals down toilet or sinks
BBQ: Please turn off propane after each use. Please clean BBQ grill with brush provided
Woodstove: Please use the provided split firewood ONLY, in the Woodstove
Instructions for lighting and burning in Woodstove have been provided separately
Avoid logs from rolling out of the Woodstove by always closing and latching door
Cooking in or on the Woodstove is prohibited
Do not pour water into the Woodstove
Outdoor Firepit: Please use designated outdoor firepit only.
Only burn the split firewood which has been provided. Do not burn garbage
Please ensure fire is extinguished all outdoor fires after use
Please do not leave fires unattended
Please follow fire advisories at www.albertafirebans.ca - Clearwater County
Garbage: Please use garbage and/or recycling bins as provided for, especially with respect to outdoor red garbage bin as garbage as food odors attract unwelcome wildlife.
Locked Areas: The basement and outdoor storage sheds are NOT included in the Cabin rental
Cabin Property: The items/condiments supplied with the Cabin are personal property of the Cabin and are provided for your comfort and convenience. Please do not remove from the Cabin.
Please do not move, rearrange furniture or remove any such property.
